Day one of my cross country move, landed me in Sedona, AZ. I hit the trails for some hike-therapy. What a site. It got me thinking…
At some point in our lives we all experience that sudden impact that life hits us with, which re-routes our coarse. For some it’s negative; a loss, a major disappointment, or unexpected change. For others it’s positive; a promotion, an unsought and surprising new relationship, a baby, or other opportunity you weren’t actively seeking. Both come with potential risk, the fear of the unknown, and a loss of full control…and yet each have remarkably different feelings and tones.
I look up at those large, rocky, beautifully painted mountains and think how can I take more risks in order to grow? How can I be brave and confident in creating this new life? And how can I live more in the grey (where the true color lies) accepting that I am only in control of myself?
Simple. It’s moving from living in fear and the comfort of staying the same, to growing through our innate desire as humans to change and evolve. You have the map and compass to find that trail towards your mountain of growth!
